Jörg Pose was born in 1959 in Rostock. After graduating from Leipzig's Hans Otto Drama School (now part of the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”), he worked at Schauspiel Leipzig, in Frankfurt an der Oder and in Bonn. He played at Frankfurt’s Playhouse from 1991 to 1996, after which he moved to Düsseldorf's Schauspielhaus. From 2000 to 2001, he worked at the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich and the following year at the Frankfurt Playhouse. There, he worked with directors André Wilms, Anselm Weber, Dimiter Gotscheff and with Armin Petras in the role of the village judge Adam in The Broken Jug. Jörg Pose joined the Thalia Theater ensemble in January 2003. There he worked with Andreas Kriegenburg in several productions, assuming the title role in Macbeth and appearing in The Virgin of Orleans, King Lear, The Crucible, Dirty Hands and The Final Fire. He also worked with Stephan Kimmig in Lantana; Dimiter Gotscheff in The Lost Ones – Beckett. Reading; and with Alize Zandwijk on Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Summerfolk. Most recently Pose played Vanya in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya; Alceste in Molière's The Misanthrope (both directed by Andreas Kriegenburg) and the District Administrator in Brand – Mein Gott ist Sturm. Jörg Pose has been a member of the DT ensemble since the start of the 2009/2010 season.
