Head of Scenography
Anne Ehrlich studied interior design/room scenarios with Prof. Colin Walker. From 1998 to 2001 she designed several film sets, including one for “It’s a small world and things like this” (written and directed by Franziska Stünkel), which received the award for best short film at the Filmfest Dresden. In 2002, she took part in the 81st artist’s autumn exhibition of Lower Saxony ('Perspektiven') at the Kunstverein Hanover. From 2004 to 2008 she was engaged at the Thalia Theater Hamburg as assistant stage designer. For the Thalia Theater she designed the sets for 2004 'Kick and Rush' (written by Andri Beyeler, directed by Dominik Günther, 2005), 'Jasagen und Neinsagen' (a seminar for executives written by Tom Kühnel und Jürgen Kuttner, directed by Tom Kühnel), 2006 'Schwarz' (written and directed by Nuran David Calis), 2007 Autorentheatertage 'Die Ganzen Wahrheiten' (written by Sathyan Ramesh, directed by Stephan Kimmig) and Stadtnotizen 4: 'Jenfeld, mon Amour' (directed by Frank Abt), 2009 'Mamma Medea' (written by Tom Lanoye, directed by Jorinde Dröse) and 'Der Menschenfeind' by Molière (directed by Andreas Kriegenburg). For ‘Der Menschenfeind’ she was awarded the City of Hamburg’s Rolf Mares Prize.
As a stage designer, Anne Ehrlich also works for the Munich Volkstheater, the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the National Theatre in Oslo, the Akademietheater in Vienna, the Folkoperan in Stockholm and the Riksteatern (Swedish National Theatre). For the Deutsches Theater she has designed sets for productions such as 'Geschichten von hier 1-3' and 'Kein Schiff wird Kommen' under the direction of Frank Abt as well as for ,Der Menschenfeind‘ by Molière and 'Das letzte Feuer' by Dea Loher, both directed by Andreas Kriegenburg.
She has been Head of Scenography since the 2011/12 season.
