A Midsummer Night's Dream

based on the play by William Shakespeare

German translation by Frank Günther

What does it mean to be mad about someone? Is intoxicating love truer than the more sober variety? How can love be manipulated and where does power come into play? Andreas Kriegenburg uses Shakespeare’s play to explore the trials and tribulations of love, the fluid boundaries between the sensual and the supernatural, and the divide between dreams and reality in the emotional life of modern-day urbanites.
It is a journey on which big city dwellers, who fear being left on the shelf, hope to finally meet their match. They’re all looking for their one true, everlasting love. Overwhelming desires and fantasies take flight, defying all attempts to control them and lead an orderly life.
