Stories from here: Faith, Love & Hope (Geschichten von hier I: Glaube Liebe Hoffnung)
A project by Frank Abt
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13:13)
For director Frank Abt, faith, hope and love – the three divine virtues in Christianity – are the point of departure for a poetic exploration of reality. What do we associate with these virtues today? What role do they play in our lives? Together with the journalist Dirk Schneider, Abt searches for answers. They get people to talk about their lives, what they believe in, what they hope for, and who or what they love. A religious convert, an elderly woman, a couple who found love on the Internet – these personal portraits provide the textual basis for the project and bring real life to the theatre. What do we believe in? What gives us hope? Is love really the greatest? Frank Abt shows us the extraordinary in the ordinary and the poetry in the everyday. His production is not about great tragedies: it’s about the uniqueness of the little details. It’s about stories from here.
