Katharina Marie Schubert was born in 1977 in Gifhorn, Lower Saxony. After training as an actor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, she made her debut at the city’s “Wiener Festwochen“ festival in 1999. Schubert then performed at Vienna’s Burgtheater, where she appeared in productions by Karin Beier, Declan Donellan and Martin Kusej. From 2001 to 2008 she was a member of the ensemble at Munich’s Kammerspiele. In 2007, Katharina Marie Schubert was awarded the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis für Darstellende Kunst, a prize for young artists in the performing arts. She has also acted in numerous feature films. Schubert played the main role in Ben Verbong’s Ob ihr wollt oder nicht! (Whether You Want to or Not!) and stars in Sherry Horman’s upcoming comedy The Pursuit of Unhappiness. Katharina Marie Schubert is currently a member of the Deutsches Theater ensemble. She can be seen in: Nicolas Stemann’s production of St. Joan of the Stockyards by Bertolt Brecht; Stephan Kimmig’s staging of Mary Stuart by Friedrich Schiller, and Jette Steckel’s production of Dirty Hands by Sartre.
