Olivia Grigolli was born in Tyrol. After a private acting education, she made her acting debut at the Landestheater in Innsbruck at the age of 18. This was followed by engagements at the Bavarian State Opera, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, Theater Basel, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. Under the direction of Frank Castorf, she was a member of the ensemble of the Volksbühne in Berlin from 1992 to 1998. Following a guest engagement in Basel she worked at the Schauspielhaus Zürich for five years under the direction of Christoph Marthaler. She has performed under directors including Franz Xaver Kroetz, Frank Castorf, Christoph Marthaler, Stefan Pucher, Jan Bosse, Andreas Kriegenburg, Stefan Bachmann, Barbara Frey and Karin Henkel. From 2009 to 2011 she was a member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater Dresden. Since 2011 she has worked on a freelance basis again at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, Volksbühne Berlin and the Hamburg Schauspielhaus.
