Laura Naumann was born in 1989 in Leipzig and grew up in Chemnitz. She studied creative writing and cultural journalism at the University of Hildesheim. In 2006 and 2008 she was the award winner at the Treffen Junger Autoren (Meeting of Young Playwrights) of the Berliner Festspiele. In 2008 she was invited to the Stückemarkt of the Theatertreffen in Berlin with Meerrauschenhören (Hearing the sea). Her play Süßer Vogel undsoweiter (Sweet Bird and so on) was honoured at the Autorentheatertage 2010 with a workshop production. 2012 saw the production of Demut vor deinen Taten Baby (Humility towards your deeds baby) at Theater Bielefeld; in 2014 she wrote Raus aus dem Swimmingpool, rein in mein Haifischbecken (Out of the swimming pool, into my shark pool) for Schauspielhaus Bochum, in 2016 Manchmal hat die Liebe regiert und manchmal einfach niemand (Sometimes love ruled and sometimes nobody), and in 2017 Wir müssen reden (We have to talk) – to name just a few. Laura Naumann is part of the four-person playwright and performers collective Henrike Iglesias and lives in Berlin.
