Sophie Hottinger was born in Zurich in 1978 and studied acting at Theaterhochschule Zürich. After her graduation, she was engaged at Theaterhaus Jena for two years, followed by six years at Schauspielhaus Graz. In the 2012/13 season, she moved on to Konzert Theater Bern, where she performed in Claudia Bauer’s production of Faust, played the role of Marthe Rull in Der zerbrochne Krug and Elisabeth in Schiller’s Maria Stuart. Furthermore, Sophie Huttinger worked with directors including Roger Vontobel, Markus Bothe, Anna Badora, Viktor Bodó, Stephan Rottkamp, Jan Christoph Gockel, Elmar Goerden, Ingo Berk, Christine Eder, Cornelia Crombholz and Mathias Schönsee. Sophie Hottinger began her engagement at Schauspiel Leipzig in the 2015/16 season.
