Niklas Wetzel
Niklas Herbert Wetzel, born 1996 in Burgstädt, grew up in the Wetzelmühle Niederfrohna. From 2010 to 2016 he was a member of the theatre youth club "KarateMilchTiger" at the Schauspielhaus Chemnitz (repeated invitations to the Theatertreffen der Jugend Berlin et al.), where in 2013 he played the leading role in the production Reiher (Herons) by Simon Stephens (directed by Yves Hinrichs), which was awarded the "Brüder-Grimm"-Preis Berlin. He then completed his studies at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. There he received a scholarship from the German Stage Association in 2017. He could be seen in Wartesaal at the Münchner Kammerspiele (director: Stefan Pucher) and in 2019 as Dionysos in Die Bakchen - lasst uns tanzen, a production by Wim Vandekeybus at the Münchner Residenztheater. Niklas Wetzel also presents the European Chocolate Festival. From the 2019/20 season he will be a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Currently he can be seen in The Magic Mountain, everyman (dies), At the time of the queen mother, Philoktet, Death of a Salesman.
