Marie Bonnet, born 1985 in Gelsenkirchen, studied at the Westfälische Schauspielschule Bochum from 2006 to 2010. In 2008 she played The Comedy of Errors (Komödie der Irrungen) at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. In 2010 she gave a guest performance at the Schauspiel Köln in The Celebration (Das Fest). From 2010 to 2017 she was a permanent ensemble member at Theater Freiburg, where she last appeared in Viel gut essen (directed by Heike M. Goetze), Schlachten (directed by Christoph Frick) and Wassa Schelesnowa / Die Mutter (directed by Tom Kühnel). She is also a speaker in SRF and SWR radio plays. Marie Bonnet has been a member of the Neumarkt Ensemble since the 2017/18 season. She introduced herself to the Zurich public in the season opening premiere Submission (Unterwerfung). She also appeared in Biedermann und die Brandstifter, in Die Hauptstadt and Café Populaire. In the 2018/19 season she played in King Ubu and currently is seen in The Life of Vernon Subutex (Das Leben des Vernon Subutex) based on the novel trilogy by Virginie Despentes (director: Peter Kastenmüller), in Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Wer hat Angst vor Virginia Woolf?) (director: Heike M. Goetze) and in Entschuldigung (director: Peter Kastenmüller). Entschuldigung is a co-production between the Theater Neumarkt Zurich and the Deutsches Theater Berlin and will be premiered in Berlin at the end of the Autorentheatertage 2019.
