Alexander Angeletta was born in Munich in 1990 and gained initial acting experience in the youth club of the Münchner Kammerspiele, for example in Punk Rock by Lasse Myhr. He began studying acting at the Hochschule für Musik and Theater Hamburg in 2013. Already during his studies, he worked with the directors Tilman Köhler and Samuel Weiss in Die Jungfrau von Orleans and Yvonne, Prinzessin von Burgund (respectively) at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg and with fellow students founded the Mäibi theatre company. For their production of kleinstadtnovelle under the direction of Moritz Beichl, he received the Hart am Wind Festival’s youth jury prize for best leading actor. He entered his first permanent engagement in 2016/17 at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. There he worked with such directors as Pinar Karabulut, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson and Philipp Stölzl and played Dr. Tomas Stockmann in Marco Štorman’s Volksfeind. He joined the Theater Bremen ensemble last season and has been on stage in Alize Zandwijk’s Fremdes Haus and Selen Kara’s song recital BANG BANG. He is presently playing, among others, in Love you, Dragonfly, which is invited to the Deutsche Theater Berlin as a guest performance at the Autorentheatertage 2019.
