Morph

"Language is the formative organ of thought. […] Each language draws a circle around the people to whom it adheres which it is possible for the individual to escape only by stepping into a different one." (Wilhelm von Humboldt - 1836)

Words change our perception and shape reality. In another language they are deprived of their content and transform into sound. A "morph" represents the smallest formal, meaningful component of spoken language.

TseSho and Neues Künstlertheater are connected by a long-lasting artistic friendship. Together they research improvisational formats that transcend borders. At Deutsches Theater they were invited to perform at Radar Ost 2019.

At the peak of the Corona Crisis, the Neues Künstlertheater sent a 50-minute composition of words and images from Berlin to Kiev, combined with three requests:
1. Take your instruments, a camera and go into a dark room.
2. Turn on the sound and video and press record.
3. Answer us.

The result of this artistic exchange can now be seen for the first time at Radar Ost Digital.
