Birgit Lengers

Studies in theatre, film and cultural sciences in Cologne and Hildesheim. From 1997 to 2002 she was employed as an adjunct professor at the University of Hildesheim. After six years of cooperation with director Thorsten Lensing (THEATER T1) work as dramaturg with German Theater Abroad (GTA). Conception and realization of transatlantic festivals and theatre projects such as 'Stadttheater New York' (New York) and 'Road Theater USA' (USA/ Berlin Festspiele/ Heidelberger Stückemarkt/ Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus). Guest lecturer among others in Hildesheim and at the Academy of the Arts in Berlin. Presenter of the events of the Berliner Theatertreffen;  jury member of the Brüder-Grimm-Prize of the Federal Land of Berlin and of the Heidelberger Stückemarkt. Publications in 'Text und Kritik', 'Theater der Zeit', 'Die Deutsche Bühne', 'Korrespondenzen', and more. Vice Chairwoman of the Board of the Dramaturgische Gesellschaft (dg). Head of Young DT since the 2009/2010 season.
