Katrin Wichmann

Katrin Wichmann was born in 1978 in Braunschweig. She studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. This was followed by engagements at the Staatstheater Kassel and Theater Basel. She has performed in productions by directors including Armin Petras and Albrecht Hirche. From 2005 to 2009, Katrin Wichmann was a member of the ensemble of the Thalia Theater Hamburg, where she continued to collaborate with Armin Petras. She also worked with directors including Stephan Kimmig, Jorinde Dröse, René Pollesch, Dimiter Gotscheff and Michael Thalheimer. In 2007, Katrin Wichmann was awarded the Boy-Gobert-Prize for Best Up-and-Coming Actress. She has had parts in numerous film and TV productions and worked with Andreas Kleinert, Stefan Krohmer and Laura Lackmann. Since the 2009/10 season she has been a member of the Deutsches Theater ensemble and has worked with Sebastian Hartmann, Stefan Pucher and Lilja Rupprecht, among others. Currently she can be seen in Ode, Black Maria, The Silent Trabants, The Captain of Köpenick, Berlin Alexanderplatz, as well as Melissa Gets Everything directed by René Pollesch, which will premiere in the season 2020/21.
