STAY UNITED 2023

On the night of the 24th of February 2022, Russia began its war against Ukraine. Today, one year after the start of the war, we - in cooperation with Hotel Continental - Art Space in Exile, a temporary cultural centre in Treptow - invite you to the six-part series of events called STAY UNITED. DT ensemble members and Ukrainian artists will present three evenings together at both Hotel Continental and Deutsches Theater. After a year of war in Europe they will venture a cautious reflection. Has the catastrophic state of emergency become normality? How does one cope with everyday life in war - in exile, but also in Ukraine itself? What forces has the war unleashed, what visions has it fueled? And what roles plays art in all of this?

The Hotel Continental - Art Space in Exile is a non-profit project to support cultural workers from Ukraine who have fled. In the rooms of a former piano factory, Hotel Continental offers workshops, project rooms, stages and exhibition space for Ukrainian artists since June 2022.
