Judith Hofmann
Born in 1967 in Zurich. She studied at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and from 1994 to 1999 was engaged at the Staatstheater in Munich, from 1999 to 2001 at the Burgtheater in Vienna and from 2001 to 2009 at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. For the role of Lena in Leonce und Lena (director: Andreas Kriegenburg) she was awarded the Star of the Year 1998 by the Münchner Abendzeitung and in 2006 she was nominated for the Nestroy for her role as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (director: David Bösch). From 2009 to 2022 she was a member of the Deutsches Theater ensemble, where she appeared in productions by Andreas Kriegenburg, Stephan Kimmig, Alize Zandwijk, Jette Steckel, Rafael Sanchez, René Pollesch, Anne Lenk, Tom Kühnel and Jürgen Kuttner. In 2010 she was awarded the Tilla-Durieux-Schmuck, which spends ten years in the possession of an "outstanding German actor". In 2019 she won the Swiss Film Award as best actress for the role of Ruth in Simon Jaquemets movie Der Unschuldige (The Innocent) with which she was nominated for the German Acting Prize that same year.
