A Play from Junges DT
Vacuum (Vakuum)
A classroom-play by Maria Ursprung
YouTuber Blynkzno is committed to training future influencers and is searching for new talent. However, her recruitment drive is soon interrupted by an unexpected guest. A young man whose brother retired to the Metaversum and whose last known physical location was in this classroom has gone missing. At least that’s what he says — because truth and lies are not always easy to distinguish.
Conspiracy narratives and how they are entangled in social media form the backbone of Maria Ursprung’s commissioned drama. This play for the classroom is a plea for critical thinking, source checking and enthusiastic use of technical aids without falling into the traps set by conspiracy theories. It urges us to face complexity and accept the unknown while encouraging the audience to ask questions – even if a definitive answer seems impossible. A tribute to doubt and an encouragement to embrace the complexities of reality.
