Manolo Bertling was born in Sicily in 1982. He completed his acting studies at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst „Ernst Busch“ in Berlin in 2008, then played several roles at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin and entered his first permanent theatre engagement at the Centraltheater Leipzig in the 2008/09 season under the general directorship of Sebastian Hartmann. There he worked with Robert Borgmann, Martin Laberenz and Sebastian Hartmann, played in Hartmann’s production of Krieg and Frieden, which was invited to the Theatertreffen 2013, and met Armin Petras, whose ensemble at Schauspiel Stuttgart he joined in the 2013/14 season. Since then, Bertling has been acting on a freelance basis at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Volksbühne and elsewhere. At Theater Bremen he is on stage as a guest actor in Fritz Kater’s Love You, Dragonfly, with which he will also come to Berlin for the Autorentheatertage 2019.
