Maren Eggert

Maren Eggert was born in 1974 in Hamburg. She studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School of the Performing Arts in Munich. From 1998 to 2000 she was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Bochum under artistic director Leander Haußmann, and worked together with Christina Paulhofer and Jürgen Kruse, among others. From 2000 to 2009 she was a member of the ensemble of the Thalia Theater Hamburg. Here she worked with directors including Michael Thalheimer, Stephan Kimmig, Martin Kušej, Nicolas Stemann and Frank Abt. In 2002 she was awarded the Boy‑Gobert Prize of the Körber-Foundation and in 2007 the Ulrich-Wildgruber-Prize. Maren Eggert can be seen in a variety of film and television roles. In 2008 she was awarded the critics prize for Die Frau am Ende der Straße (The Woman at the End of the Street). She has a close working relationship with Angela Schanelec, their last joint film received a silver bear at the Berlinale 2019. Since 2009 Maren Eggert is engaged at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Currently she can be seen in Hasta la Westler, Baby!, Franziska Linkerhand, Revolutionary Road, Medea.
