100 seconds until the bomb goes off. 100 seconds until the finger presses the trigger. 100 seconds until the end of the world. In a merciless countdown, the clock is ticking against life and the life story of those who have decided to sacrifice themselves and die for a cause. In a public experiment, Christopher Rüping and his ensemble close in on the motivations and values, ideologies and biographies, religious beliefs and legacies of a broad range of characters and people who end their lives violently, thus becoming not only victims but also perpetrators of crimes against themselves and others – martyrs, suicide bombers, spree killers, war heroes and terrorists – in a contrasting mixture of documentary and fictional material, and moments of alienation and intimacy.
