YOUR VERY OWN DOUBLE CRISIS CLUB
A translated lament in a terrible accent
by Sivan Ben Yishai, director: András Dömötör
Two crises meet: a WE and a YOU. A WE with stories of escape and the established YOU of a democratic society: "We – act as if we knew what you were about, as if we had something to tell you. / You – all act as if you’re trying to understand us. Yes. That’s the least you can do."
Co-production with Schauspielhaus Zurich
Welches Jahr haben wir gerade? (Which year are we living in?)
by Afsane Ehsandar, director: Mélanie Huber
A man and a woman. They try to create a sense of normality while finding their feet in a foreign country. But are they even safe or still on a dangerous journey? Is this even their story?
Coproduction with the Burgtheater Vienna
Kartonage
by Yade Yasemin Önder, directed by: Franz Xaver Stelz
After sixteen years, Rosalie – who was believed to be dead – returns to her parents’ home. More precisely, she returns to the box, to family hell. Past and present become blurred, secrets are revealed. "To return means to remember."
The premiered plays were selected from 125 submitted theatre texts by the jury (the chairman of the jury Anke Dürr, the actress Annette Paulmann and the author and filmmaker Jan-Ole Gerster).
