BUCH. Berlin (5 ingredientes de la vida)
by Fritz Kater
5 ingredients of life:
Utopia
Imagination
Love and death
Instinct
Care
In five images starting in the 1960s and leading up to the present day, the new stage piece by Fritz Kater shows people (and animals) struggling for love, life, meaning and understanding. The settings change erratically and the viewpoint wanders from Buch, North Berlin’s ‘hospitalcity’, to Hunsrück, Munich, Arizona and all the way to Africa. “There are only three things I still believe in: the first is beauty, another is foreignness. And I believe in interest. What is theatre?” asks this drama’s playwright. “It is always a view of the human condition. Perhaps the play is an attempt to get to the heart of this as far as possible.”
