After the youth project Die Welt in uns,Turbo Pascal continues its commitment to the legacy of Garry Davis, the self-proclaimed World Citizen No. 1 and founder of the cosmic movement. From September 2017 onwards, in a limousine in Berlin, at the centre of society and at its edges, the theatre collective will be looking for people who consider themselves to be cosmopolitan, and others who cannot identify with it at all.
Where do world citizens live and where not? What forms of citizenship can be envisaged and by whom?
In May 2018, the theatre forecourt will be the venue for a world citizen’s gala – a ceremonial act, a presentation and game of status, an arena for mixed feelings, experiences and attitudes towards being a world citizen. Various representatives of world citizenship will make their appearance on the red carpet and at long tables will draw spectators into conversations, votes and wrangling.
