Kathleen Morgeneyer

Born in 1977, Kathleen Morgeneyer studied acting at the "Ernst Busch" School for Performing Arts in Berlin. In 2006 she joined the ensemble at Dusseldorf’s Schauspielhaus, working with directors such as Joachim Schlömer, Karin Henkel, Jürgen Gosch and Oliver Reese. Morgeneyer was voted best young actress in North-Rhine Westphalia by a critics’ poll in 2007. Kathleen Morgeneyer was a guest performer at the Deutsches Theater in 2008, appearing in Jürgen Gosch’s staging of The Seagull. Her portrayal of Nina earned Morgeneyer the Alfred-Kerr-Preis – presented as part of the 2009 Theatertreffen festival in Berlin – and the title of Most Promising Actress of 2009 (awarded by critics in a poll conducted by trade Magazine Theater heute). Kathleen Morgeneyer performed at Schauspiel Frankfurt from 2009 to 2011, before joining the Deutsches Theater ensemble in the 2011/2012 theatre season. At Deutsches Theater she worked with directors such as Stephan Kimmig, Roland Schimmelpfennig, Michael Thalheimer and Daniela Löffner. She was awarded the Ulrich-Wildgruber-Preis in 2017.
