Cornelia Gloth
Cornelia Gloth was born in 1982 in Bielefeld. She gained her first practical experience at the Theater Bielefeld as part of a preparatory internship for studying theatre and event technology. From 2002 to 2006 she studied at the Technische Fachhochschule Berlin, graduating with an engineering diploma in theatre and event technology. Parallel with her studies, she worked as a lighting designer for independent theatre productions, which were also performed at various festivals (incl. the Junge Hunde festival 2005 in Meiningen, the Theaterfestival Hamburg 2007 in the Kulturhaus 73, and the Boxenstopp festival 2008 at the Theater der jungen Welt Leipzig). During her studies she spent one semester doing a placement at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London with a focus on lighting. During her masters in event technology and management, she did work experience with the French lighting designer André Diot for a production at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris. Subsequently she was a master electrician at the Salzburg Marionette Theater until 2010. From 2010 to 2013 she was a master electrician at the Staatstheater Kassel. Since 2013 she has been a master electrician at the Deutsches Theater Berlin.
