Manuel Harder was born in Valparaìso in Chile, and grew up in Bremen. Following his degree in theatre studies and contemporary German literature, and training to become an actor, he was an ensemble member at the Salzburger Landestheater, Schauspiel Dortmund, Centraltheater Leipzig, Schauspiel Frankfurt and Schauspiel Stuttgart. He had guest engagements at theatres including the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. He has worked with Lilja Rupprecht, Sebastian Hartmann, Jürgen Kruse, Anne Lenk, René Pollesch, Robert Borgmann, Martin Laberenz, Karin Henkel, Armin Petras, Luk Perceval, Jorinde Dröse, Amélie Niermeyer, Sascha Hawemann, Mareike Mikat, SIGNA, Michael Gruner, Hermann Schmidt‑Rahmer, Thirza Bruncken and others. Productions, play developments, world premieres (incl. texts by Arthur Rimbaud, Else Lasker‑Schüler, Carsten Brandau, Guillaume Paoli, Bonaventura), research- and international exchange projects in Dortmund, Leipzig, Vienna, Stuttgart and Chişinau (Rep. Moldova). Drama teacher at the University of Music and Theatre "Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig and the HMDK State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart as well as at the Athanor Akademie. He has appeared in various radio, film and TV productions. Since the 2017/18 season she has been a member of the Deutsches Theater ensemble.
