Anika Steinhoff
Born in 1978 in Bremen. From 1998-1999, she was an intern and assistant for dramaturgy and theatre direction at the Bremer Theater for Joachim Lux, Konstanze Lauterbach and Johann Kresnik, among others. Since 1999 she has worked for the Forum of International New Cinema at the Berlin Film Festival. From 1999-2003, she studied dramaturgy at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. During her studies, she interned as a dramaturg at the Thalia Theater for the production of Liebelei (Playing with Love), directed by Michael Thalheimer. In 2003, she received a DAAD scholarship to do an MA in Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam. In 2004, she interned again as a dramaturg at the Thalia Theater for the production Floh im Ohr (A Flea in her Ear) directed by Martin Kušej. In 2005, she did an internship in theatre direction at the Burgtheater Vienna in co-production with the Salzburg Festival for König Ottokars Glück und Ende (King Ottokar’s Happiness and Demise), directed by Martin Kušej. From 2005-2007, she was an assistant dramaturg at the Thalia Theater. She has worked together with Jette Steckel, Andreas Kriegenburg, Annette Pullen and Henning Bock, among others. From 2007-2009, she was dramaturg at the Thalia Theater Hamburg and since the 2009/10 season, at the Deutsches Theater.
