Katrin Klein
Katrin Klein was born in Berlin. She studied at the University of Performing Arts "Ernst Busch" in Berlin. From 1979 to 2022 she was a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and has played Thekla in Friedo Solter’s production of Wallenstein, the title character in Alexander Lang’s Die traurige Geschichte von Friedrich dem Großen (The Sad Story of Frederick the Great), in Danton’s Death and The Dance of Death and for Frank Castorf in Paris Paris and John Gabriel Borkmann. Among other roles she played Sittah in Nathan the Wise (director: Friedo Solter) and Goneril in King Lear (director: Thomas Langhoff). Since 2001 she has worked with directors including Lars Norén, Armin Petras, Barbara Frey, Jürgen Gosch, Michael Thalheimer (Emilia Galotti, The Rats) and Andreas Kriegenburg (Thieves). She is also to be seen in film and TV productions. One of her recent works was with Daniela Löffner in Fathers and Sons, which was invited to the 2016 Theatertreffen.
