Elena Schmidt was born and grew up in Vienna and has lived in Berlin for several years. She studied acting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Engagements have taken her to the Salzburg Festival, the Volkstheater in Vienna, the Schauspiel Hannover and the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, among others. She has worked with Jürgen Flimm, Amélie Niermeyer, Nurkan Erpulat, Nora Schlocker, Florian Fiedler, Anna Badora, Staffan Valdemar Holm, Kevin Rittberger, Guillermo Calderon and Dries Verhouven. Besides her theatrical work, she has acted in several short films and feature films including Local Heroes by Henning Backhaus and Wie Man Leben Soll by David Schalko. She also works for the radio stations Deutschlandradio, Ö1, WDR and BR. Alongside her voice-acting roles, she has also worked as a director and dramaturg for radio.
