What does it mean to be armed for the future? Is the future set in stone – this one and no other? What Future?!
envisages one of many possible futures and from there looks back to a time when "the worst could have been avoided": back to today. What Future?!
is about time and money and what we do with them.
In preparation for the actual theatre production, which will premiere in 2018, a workshop will take place on 16 September 2017 in cooperation with well-known institutions such as the Shell Future Scenario Dept., London, the Institute for Work and Economy Bremen, the Finland Futures Research Centre Helsinki, the Humboldt University Berlin, the Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss, the geopolitical intelligence platform Stratfor, Austin, USA, the Institute for Political Economics of the University of Würzburg and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research.
Workshops lasting several hours will explore how the public, stakeholders and experts envisage the future; what they fear and how they hope to shape it. The results will form the basis for further research.
