Toni Jessen
Toni Jessen, born 1984 in Königs Wusterhausen, studied acting at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch". Before that he played at P14/Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz under the direction of Sebastian Mauksch. Guest engagements at Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schaubühne Berlin and Schauspiel Stuttgart followed, where he worked with Christian Weise, Nora Schlocker, Claudia Bauer and Mareike Mikat among others. Since 2013 he has lived and worked as a freelance theatre and film actor and radio play speaker in Berlin again. Collaborations: costacompagnie in Heidelberg, Marc Wortel at the Frascati Theater Amsterdam, music theatre collective Hauen & Stechen at the Neuköllner Oper and Prinzip Gonzo and Daniel Schrader at the Ballhaus Ost. A close collaboration links him with Ulrich Rasche, in whom he also acts as a voice choir leader in addition to his acting activities. The works Die Räuber (Residenztheater Munich), Woyzeck (Theater Basel) and Das große Heft (Staatstheater Dresden) were invited three times in a row to the Theatertreffen in Berlin. In the 2019/20 season he can be seen in the new production by Ulrich Rasche 4.48 Psychose on the stage of the Deutsches Theater Berlin, which premieres in January 2020.
