Jürgen Lehmann

Jürgen Lehmann studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts. From 1999, engagements led him to the Berliner Volksbühne (Rosenkriege, directed by Karin Henkel), to the Deutsches Theater Berlin (Verratenes Volk, directed by Einar Schleef) and to the Berliner Ensemble. In 2004 he began working with Ulrich Rasche. First as an actor in 231 East 47th Street at the Sophiensaele, then as choral conductor for Rasche's first choral project Singing! Intangible work in the Palace of the Republic. Many other projects as an actor and mainly as a speaking choir conductor followed, for instance at the Berlin Volksbühne (Seestücke), the Schauspiel Stuttgart (Kirchenlieder; Die Wellen) and Schauspiel Frankfurt (Wilhelm Meister, Die Perser), the Vienna Festival (This Is Not a Love Song) and most recently at the Salzburg Festival (Die Perser), the Residenztheater Munich (Elektra) and the Burgtheater in Vienna (Die Bakchen). With Fabian Hinrichs he developed the projects Die Zeit schlägt dich tot für die Berliner Festspiele 2012 and  Ich.Welt.Wir. A thousand questions are hissing for the Schauspielhaus Hamburg 2013. In addition to his theatre work, Jürgen Lehmann can also be seen time and again in film and television productions. In the 2019/20 season, he can be seen as an actor in Ulrich Rasche's new production of 4.48 Psychosis at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, which premieres in January 2020.
