Karin Henkel
Born in 1970 in Cologne. She has directed productions at many German theatres. Works of hers that have been invited to the Theatertreffen are: Platonov, (2006, Staatstheater Stuttgart), The Cherry Orchard (Der Kirschgarten, 2011, Schauspiel Köln), Macbeth (2012, Münchener Kammerspiele), The Rats (Die Ratten, 2013, Schauspiel Köln), Amphitryon und sein Doppelgänger (Amphitryon and his Doppelgänger) at the Schauspielhaus Zürich (2014) and her production of John Gabriel Borkman at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg (2015). She directed The Rue de Lourcine Affair (Die Affäre Rue de Lourcine, 2016) at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. In 2018 Karin Henkel was awarded with the Theaterpreis Berlin.
