Astrid Meyerfeldt
Astrid Meyerfeldt was trained as an actor at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" in Rostock. After her first engagement at the Theater der Freundschaft in Berlin, Frank Castorf engaged her at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, where she was a permanent member of the ensemble from 1992 to 2008. Here she performed in productions by Frank Castorf, Christoph Schlingensief, Leander Haußmann, Andreas Kriegenburg, Johan Simons and René Pollesch. Since 2008 she has worked as a freelance actress and has performed at the Theater Oberhausen, Opera Kiel, Hebbel am Ufer Berlin and Theater Basel. In 2012 she made her directorial debut at Theater Basel with I hired Tristan und Isolde. From 2013 to 2018 Armin Petras engaged her at the Staatstheater Stuttgart. During this time she worked with Jan Bosse, Armin Petras, Stephan Kimmig, Sebastian Baumgarten, Robert Borgmann and again with Frank Castorf and René Pollesch. For her role Marianne in the play Scenes from a Marriage based on Ingmar Bergman's film she was nominated for the German Theatre Prize Der Faust as best actress 2014. In addition to her theatre work, she is involved in numerous film, television and radio productions. Currently she can be seen in Black Maria, as well as Number Four, directed by René Pollesch, which will premiere in April 2020.
