Jorinde Dröse

Jorinde Dröse (1976), studied dramaturgy at the Theater Academy in Munich from 1996-1998 and directing at the Institute for Drama Theater Directing at the University of Hamburg from 1998. From 2002 to 2009 she worked regularly at Hamburg's Thalia Theater under the directorship of Ulrich Khuon (including Ein Sommernachtstraum, Schimmelreiter, Mamma Medea), as well as at Munich's Volkstheater (for instance Was Ihr wollt), Munich's Kammerspiele (Invasion!, Glow Box), Schauspielhaus Bochum (e.g. I hired a Contract Killer) and Deutsches Theater Berlin.

With Büchner's Woyzeck in the version by Robert Wilson, Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, she presented her first production at the Deutsches Theater in the 2009/10 season. From 2010-2013, Jorinde Dröse was in-house director under the directorship of Armin Petras at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin (including Jeder stirbt für sich allein, Ein Volksfeind) and directed until 2016 at Schauspiel Frankfurt under the directorship of Oliver Reese (including Die Nibelungen, Schöne neue Welt). Since 2009 Jorinde Dröse has worked as a mother and from 2017-2021 she was a forest educator and homeschooling teacher. In 2022 she founded the DröseEichel Company & Friends with actress Julischka Eichel. With Das Augenlid ist ein Muskel, Jorinde Dröse resumes her work as a director.
