Hilke Altefrohne
Hilke Altefrohne, born in Osnabrück, grew up in Nordhorn. She studied fine arts at the HBK Braunschweig for two years and subsequently attended the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum. Her first engagement in Kassel marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration with Armin Petras and Peter Kastenmüller, which continued at Schauspiel Frankfurt from 2002-2005. In 2004, she was voted Young Actress of the Year for her work there in the critics' poll of Theater heute magazine. From 2006 to 2013 she is a member of the ensemble of the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, where she meets, among others, the directors Antú Romero Nunes, Jan Bosse, Felicitas Brucker and Jorinde Dröse. Subsequently, she is a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Zurich until 2018 where she works with Sebastian Nübling, René Pollesch, Hebert Fritsch, Barbara Frey, Karin Henkel, Alvis Hermanis and Antú Romero Nunes. Hilke Altefrohne has been living freelance in Berlin since 2018. She also works for film and television and can be seen in Tatortreiniger, among others. In the 2021/2022 season, she will again work with Antú Romero Nunes at Theater Basel.
