Birte Schnöink
Birte Schnöink lives as a freelance actress in Berlin. She grew up in Delmenhorst, always where you are not. She studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" in Berlin and made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2008 as Sonja in Verbrechen und Strafe directed by Andrea Breth. After graduating, she joined the ensemble of the Thalia Theater Hamburg and stayed until 2019, where she worked with directors such as Jette Steckel, Leonie Böhm, Stefan Pucher, Nicholas Stemann, Bastian Kraft and Giacomo Veronesi. In 2014, she received the Boy-Gobert-Award for young actors at Hamburg theatres. In 2017, together with Marie Rosa Tietjen, she created her first own work, Bilder deiner Grossen Liebe by Wolfgang Herrendorf. This was followed in 2021 by a guest engagement at the Theater Basel and a collaboration with Martin Laberenz. In addition to her work in the theatre, Birte Schnöink is also active in film. Her first leading film role was in the suicide tragedy Amour Fou by Jessica Hausner, which was screened at the 2014 Cannes International Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard series. Her most recent films were 2022's The Girl with the Golden Hands by Katharina Marie Schubert and To the Death of My Mother by Jessica Krummacher.
