Ben Baur

Ben Baur comes from Reinheim, South Hessen, and studied set and costume design at the Berlin Weißensee School of Art. As a freelance stage and costume designer for music theatre and stage, he works with directors such as Anna Bergmann, Jetske Mijnssen, Patrick Schlösser, Michael von zur Mühlen, Rudolf Frey, Jim Lucassen, Jan Phillip Gloger and Bastian Kraft. His work can be seen at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Munich Volkstheater, the Staatsheater Saarbrücken and Kassel, the Schauspielhaus Bochum and Frankfurt, the Staatsoper Stuttgart and the Burgtheater Vienna. His set design for Handel’s Alcina at the Semperoper Dresden was nominated several times in the critics’ poll of the Magazine Opernwelt as Set Design of The Year in 2012. New projects include work at the Zurich Opera House, the Hamburg State Opera as well as the Dutch Opera in Amsterdam.
