Georgette Dee

Born in 1958 in Northern Germany, Georgette Dee has been one of Germany's biggest diseuses for over 35 years (quote from Die Zeit). In many joint programs with pianist Terry Truck, Dee has performed on numerous stages in Germany, as well as in major concert halls such as the Burgtheater in Vienna, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Paris Odeon, Berliner Ensemble and many more. Georgette Dee has received the German cabaret prize (category chanson / music / song) and the critics' prize of the Berliner Zeitung. Since 1996 she has taught lieder at the Otto-Falckenberg School in Munich, and currently also at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. Parallel to her concert programmes, Georgette Dee has appeared in numerous theatre productions since 1983, including Robert Wilson's Berliner Ensemble (Shakespeare's Sonnets), Olga Neuwirth's National Theatre Mannheim (The Outcast) and also at the Schauspielhaus Hannover, Hebbel Theatre Berlin, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Regensburg Theatre and Stadttheater Konstanz in various plays. At Deutsches Theater Berlin she can be seen in Decamerone (Director: Kirill Serebrennikov), a co-production with the Gogol-Center Moscow.
