Yang Ge
Yang Ge was born in Beijing in 1988 and lives in Berlin. She studied acting with Sergei Solovyoy and Valery Rubinchik at the State Film School in Moscow, the Gerasimov Institute for Cinematography. In 2012 she began her collaboration with Kirill Serebrennikov at the Gogol-Center Moscow, where she can be seen in one of the most important plays: Barocco. She also appeared in Outside by Kirill Serebrennikov at the Avignon Festival. Ge works in Russian film productions both as an actress and as a director. She made her directing debut with the film Nu at the 40th Moscow International Film Festival, where she was awarded the "Silver George". Yang Ge has also pursued a musical career, singing self-composed songs and made it to the finals of the television show The Voice. She can be seen in Decameron (Decamerone) by Kirill Serebrennikov based on the work by Giovanni Boccaccio (directed by Kirill Serebrennikov) at the Deutsches Theater.
