Lothar Baumgarte

Lothar Baumgarte worked as lighting master in Eisleben, Senftenberg, Erfurt, at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and at the Schillertheater Berlin, since 1986 he is freelance lighting designer. From 1992 to 2017 he worked regularly at the Berlin Volksbühne, here his work included productions by Frank Castorf, with the stage designer Bert Neumann. This was followed by numerous works on operas and plays in Stuttgart, Mannheim, Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona, Paris, Stockholm and Oslo. He regularly works with the director Sebastian Hartmann.
