Dietrich Brüggemann

Dietrich Brüggemann was born in Munich and grew up in various locations. From 2000 to 2006 he studied directing at the Academy for Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg. His first film Neun Szenen (Nine Scenes) premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2006. His other films include Renn, wenn du kannst (Run if you Can) (2010), 3 Zimmer/Küche/Bad (3 Rooms/Kitchen/Bathroom) (2012), Heil (2015) and the Tatort TV crime-series film Stau (Bottleneck) (2017) and Murot and the groundhog (Murot und das Murmeltier) (2018). Dietrich Brüggemann has worked with music, photography and texts for many years. He has also produced music videos for the likes of Thees Uhlmann, Kettcar and Judith Holofernes. From 1999 to 2012 he worked as an editor at the film magazine Schnitt. At the Deutsches Theater Berlin he has presented silent-movie evenings for many years. With his play Vater (Father), he is directing a play for the first time in the Box of the Deutsches Theater and at the same time making his debut as a theatre director.
