Katharina Debus
Katharina Debus studied Singing in Hamburg and Berlin, among others with Mike Cinnemon. Since 2000 she has worked on a freelance basis as a singer, and dedicates most of her energy to her own projects. Together with the bassist Hanns Höhn she founded the duo frau contra bass. With her multi-award-winning a-capella formation SLIXS, Katharina Debus tours internationally (e.g. the 2014 European tour with Bobby McFerrin). Since 2010 she has worked as a vocal teacher (e.g. for The Voice of Germany). In 2009 she worked together for the first time with the composer and theatre musician Cornelius Borgolte for Karin Henkel’s production of Glaube Liebe Hoffnung (Faith, Love, Hope) at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, where she could be experienced as a singer on stage. Since then she has also collaborated, e.g. with Karin Henkel (Hamburg, Berlin), Rafael Sanchez (Cologne, Berlin), Daniela Löffner (Bochum, Berlin). Since 2012 she has been teaching the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin once a week.
