Katja Strohschneider
Katja Strohschneider was born in1978 in Hamburg. She studied Costume Design at the HAW University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and worked from 2005 to 2008 as a full-time costume assistant at Schauspiel Frankfurt. There she designed costumes for productions including Gertrud (invited to the 2008 Theatertreffen) directed by Armin Petras. She went on to work as a freelance costume designer and has worked regularly with the directors Armin Petras (for example The Visit, Ich werde hier sein im Sonnenschein und im Schatten [I’ll be Here in Sunshine and in Shadow], John Gabriel Borkman, Bauern sterben [Farmers Die] and Das kalte Herz [The Cold Heart]), Simon Solberg (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Romeo und Juliet, invited to the Radikal jung Festival 2010, Minna von Barnhelm, among others) and Jan Gehler (The Sorrows of Young Werther, Supergute Tage [Super-cool Days]). She also works for the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin,the Münchner Kammerspiele, Theater Basel, the Münchner Volkstheater, and the Staatstheater Dresden and Staatstheater Stuttgart.
