Katharina Bill
Director
Katharina Bill studied scenic arts at the University of Hildesheim and works as a performer, director and facilitator of performative theatre formats. She has been invited as a performer by Corinne Maier, machina Ex, werkgruppe 2 and Hannah Biedermann, among others. She has performed at the Kaserne Basel, Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig, FFT Düsseldorf, Sophiensaele Berlin, Theaterdiscounter Berlin, Hellerau-Europäisches Zentrum der Künste and at the Kammerspiele Munich. In 2021 she developed the short film ANNA together with the artist collective werkgruppe2, in which she also plays the protagonist. The film was selected for the short film programme Short Export and will celebrate its world premiere at the film festival in Krakow in May 2022. As a director, she develops performances with non-professional actors; most recently "not my profession" at the Experimentiertheater Erlangen in 2021. In various contexts she researches the performativity of body fat, normative conventions of representation and their effects. She is also a coach at the performance competition UNART, a lecturer at the universities of Merseburg and Mozarteum Salzburg and a workshop leader.
