The Little King December (Der kleine König Dezember)
A family play by Axel Hacke
A middle-aged melancholic (an office worker by profession) receives a visit from the little King December II. King December is the very small king, and in his kingdom special rules apply: the older you get, the less you know, and the less you know, the more say you have. Together they explore the king’s room full of boxes of dreams, do everyday things and gaze at the stars. Everywhere, previously undiscovered things emerge. But does the little king really exist? Or is he just made up? Is reality only what you can see? And who has dreamt up who here? The curious encounter in Axel Hacke’s story poses questions about fantasy and reality, imagination and personal experience.
