Tilmann Köhler
Tilmann Köhler was born in 1979 in Weimar and studied Theatre Direction at the Ernst Busch University for Dramatic Arts in Berlin. In 2005, he became staff director at the German National Theatre in Weimar. His production Krankheit der Jugend by Ferdinand Bruckner was invited to the Theatertreffen in 2007. Since 2009, Köhler has been the staff director at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, where he was awarded the Kurt Hübner Prize for Young Directors in the same year for his production Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe. He has also directed works at the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Frankfurt Opera, and the Taipei Arts Festival as well as the MchAT Moscow. At the Deutsches Theater, Köhler has staged four works, including Jugend ohne Gott by Horváth and Shakespeare's Macbeth.
