Andrea Schraad

Born in 1973 in Dinklage, she graduated from her studies in costume design in Hanover. From 2000 to 2003, she was an in-house costume assistant, and later studio director and permanent costume designer at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. She designed the costumes for several productions by Andreas Kriegenburg and other Thalia Theater directors. In the 2006/2007 season, she worked for the first time together with Andreas Kriegenburg at the Münchener Kammerspiele. There she was awarded Costume Designer of the Year by the critics’ survey for the Theater heute journal for her achievements in the production of Three Sisters, as well as receiving The Faust theatre award. Most recently, she designed the costumes for The Prince of Homburg, directed by Andreas Kriegenburg and Kabale und Liebe (Intrigue and Love, directed by Stephan Kimmig), both productions at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. For her work on Sklaven. Einakter aus der Hölle der bürgerlichen Freiheit (Slaves. A One-Act Play from the Hell of Bourgeois Freedom), she was again awarded the Costume Designer of the Year title by the critics’ survey for the Theater heute journal.
