Sibylle Wallum studied stage and costume design at the Central Saint Martins College of Art And Design in London. From 2011 to 2013, she was a permanent costume assistant at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg. She also assisted Frida Parmeggiani in Robert Wilson’s Saint John Passion at the Théâtre de Châtelet in Paris and designed costumes together with Victoria Behr for La Bohème at the Muziektheater Amsterdam and for the English National Opera in London. In 2010, together with the director Anna Dirckinck Holnfeld, she was awarded the 5th European Opera Directing Prize and was nominated for the Linbury Prize for Stage Design at the National Theatre in London. She has developed her own costume designs together with the director Anne Lenk at the Residenztheater Munich, Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. She also designs costumes for the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Stadttheater Bern, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Theater Augsburg, Copenhagen Music Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, London and on a regular basis for the International Summer Festival at Kampnagel in Hamburg.
