Judith Oswald

Born in 1976 in Freiburg im Breisgau. After studying stage and costume design at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee and the UDK Berlin, she worked as a set assistant at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Since 2007 Judith Oswald has been working as a stage and costume designer at various theaters, including the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspiel Hannover, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Münchner Kammerspiele and Residenztheater München. She has worked with the directors Jan Philipp Gloger, Cilli Drexel and Anne Lenk, with whom she has had an ongoing collaboration. For her stage design for Maria Stuart (director: Anne Lenk), she was voted stage designer of the year in the 2021 Theater heute survey. In the 2021/22 season, Judith Oswald will design the set for Anne Lenk's production of Der zerbrochne Krug.
